Tennis Balls

You wouldn't think that tennis balls are so important in the game, but it really does make a difference. My favourite kind are Wilson. Dunlop is also a pretty good brand, and they are made by the same company that makes Slazenger, which are the used at Wimbledon. Then there are Penn tennis balls. A few events in the pro game use this product, and the pro version is a pretty good one, but I would not recommend buying the regular Penn Championship product that you will find in the store. It does not compare to the Wilson US Open or the Dunlop Grand Prix, and these offer much better durability, as well as better feel. If you can find the ProPenn brand, go ahead and buy them, they are really good, but you probably won't find them that regularly. The best bet,I would say, is the Wilson US Open one. This is, of course, for matches. If you are practicing, you obviously want the best value for your money, so the Penn Championship will do. Other recently introduced products are K3, which has good pressure but the hair does not last too long. Babolat has also come out with some, and they are good on the fluff side, but the pressure does not keep too well. If you want some practice types and do not want to spend money on new ones (which makes a lot of sense), I would just go down to the club, where they usually sell some second-hand ones, or go to a junior tournament and ask the tournament organizer if they would be willing to make a deal with you.
